Custom Made Double End Bolts
A double-ended bolt (or stud bolt) is a fastener with threads on both ends and a plain, unthreaded section in the middle. It's primarily used to connect two or more components, particularly where one component can't be bolted in from the other end (such as in blind holes or large equipment housings). It is widely used in machinery, chemical industry, construction, energy and other fields.
Type of Double End Bolt
- Equal-diameter stud bolts: Both ends have identical thread diameters and pitches (e.g., M12×50, both ends have M12 threads). These are the most versatile type, suitable for connecting two components that require a mating nut or have identical threaded holes.
- Reducing-diameter stud bolts: Both ends have different thread diameters (e.g., M16 on one end, M12 on the other). These stud bolts are often used when one end requires high-strength fixation while the other requires flexible adjustment. For example, connecting a large motor base to a frame (larger-diameter threads on the fixed end enhance stability, while smaller-diameter threads on the connecting end facilitate disassembly).
- General connection studs: These have no special performance requirements and are used for securing general machinery and equipment (such as furniture and small motors).
- High-strength double end studs: Made from high-strength steel (such as 35CrMoA and 40Cr), they undergo heat treatment (quenching and tempering) to achieve tensile strengths of 8.8, 10.9, or even 12.9. They are used in applications requiring extremely high strength, such as high-pressure equipment, chemical reactors, and bridges.
- Stainless steel studs bolt: Made from stainless steels such as 304, 316, and 316L, they offer corrosion and rust resistance and are used in humid or corrosive environments, such as food processing machinery, medical equipment, and marine equipment.
